It’s not only climbing, also all parkour was better in older assassins creed games. You could interrupt any sequence of movement in any moment, just on the side, jump backwards, grab ledges…

There's nothing fun about slowly, clunkily climbing up a vertical surface. The problem is a decrease in parkour routes that allow ground to roof movement diagonally.

Hmm… you do have a point with this one. As a true enjoyer of climbing and scaling in AC (I always go for all the viewpoints), I find this video very picky in it’s details. Compared to at least Ezio and Arno, Altair’s climbing was no fun for me. I enjoy the control, but the pace is just too slow, games should be realistic but not too much, not always. It’s surprising to me that some or most are looking for a lot of realism, but these guys are human-Isu hybrids, shouldn’t be a shock if some are like spider-man. 😂 I like the fantasy, it shouldn’t be too easy, I agree, give us more control, but don’t take it to AC1 again. Rather keep it like Ezio did, that was great. 👍🏾

I think ubisoft just wanted to make it faster just so the player don't get bored , in older games the climbing was fun but its boring to be honest and sometimes it was taking too long but it was realistic giving the fact that someone is capable of climbing at all

💯 half the fun in AC 1 for me was trying to find the right path when climbing. Newer games doesn’t matter where you choose to go you can just scale it.

The whole "they only use jump leaps to climb and that's bad" argument would be entirely invalidated if the dude would just release the X (or A or whatever key on a pc) button while climbing, that comand it's meant to be used specifically to hurry up during climbing so you can get to the actually fun sneaking and fighting, if you just push the analog stick the Assassin just climbs using whatever grip they can get. Also the new assassins (Origins, Odyssey blah blah) don't just adhere to walls like geckos, if you actually pay some attention they always, ALWAYS hold onto something while climbing and being master climbers they can use any handhold available, at 4:08 see how Bayek grips the space in between limestone bricks, relief of the hieroglyphs, cracks in the walls, space in between column etc? Kassandra and Eivor do the exact same, obviously. Well, the only exception are natural rock surfaces or mountains, they pretty much Spider-Man up those but that's because Ubisoft tought that most people would be able to suspend their disbelief and accept that an expert climber would just be able to find whatever handhold on a naturally uneaven and eroded rock surface, boy where they overestimating the mental health of their fanbase...

Realism doesn't always equal better dude. I agree that it shouldn't be stupid simple but playing AC2 is frustrating when you're trying to run and dude won't register a ledge cuz you're pressing up and it's actually .2cm to the right and not straight up and then you get got.

I like Origins, I liked that Bayek can climb rocks at first, but as longer as I play the game, the parkour system became less enjoyable. It just too simplified, can't trigger vaulting, and less challenging.

People are spreading hate for newer assassin's creed games pointlessly. After reading the comments i found out that people are not just sharing their opinions but they are forcing people to agree with them and have the same opinion. It's so pointless and pitiful act that these old assassin's creed people are doing. The developers can make the game however they like and what's wrong if they have made some action role playing games rather than their usual stealth, action-adventure game. I don't understand why these people say that the new games so bad, if you play those games as they are meant to be played then I'd say that they are incredible and if those games were so bad and ubisoft didn't make a good profit from them then i don't understand why they made more than 1 roleplaying games and why so many people have bought them. And for everyone's information our character in these new games do not not climb everywhere and they need to find ledges or cracks to climb up just like in older games and if you don't believe me then just play those games for yourself, most of you haven't even played these games and you still hate the games just cuz you see many people hating on them. It's truly pitiful to fight over a game. People need to grow up. Only amateurs or children hate the things they don't like. Grown ups know what life is and how to embrace it. Don't be so pitiful please , for your own sake and have some self respect.
